All library materials are subject to recall if requested by another borrower, or if a faculty member wants to place them on reserve for a course. The Library will place an immediate recall on materials needed for Reserve use.

Materials requested by another borrower are subject to recall after the current user has had them for 21 days.  

Recalled items should be returned to the Circulation Desk on or before the due date. Overdue recalled items accrue fines @ $1.00 per day up to a maximum of $10 per recalled item.

If more than one person has requested an item, you may not be the first in line to receive the item. Circulation Desk staff can tell you when you may expect to receive the item.

All notices concerning recalls are sent to email accounts. You will have 7 days to pick up the recalled item. If the item is not picked up in 7 days, it will either be returned to the stacks or go to the next person in line with a recall on the item.

If you are going to be out of the area for any extended period of time in excess of one week, you are strongly encouraged to return all Library materials, or to leave any Library materials with someone who will have access to any Library notices that may be sent to the borrower. Patrons on vacation, sabbatical, or leave of absence are responsible for any Library materials that may be recalled or become overdue during their absence.

Materials not eligible for recall:

• Items with ‘Available’ status in the online catalog.

• Items in the Reserve, Reference, Special Collections, Archives, or Periodicals collections.
