Missing Material

  • If you cannot locate an item on the shelf that is showing ‘Available’ in the catalog, you can ask for assistance at the Circulation Desk.

 

  • Staff at the Desk will verify the call number, location, and availability, check to see if the item was recently checked in and waiting to be shelved, and then initiate a search for the missing item.

 

  • Once a search request has been filed, our staff will search for the missing item for a minimum of 90 days.

 

  • If the item is found, the requestor will be notified via email that it is ready for pick up at the Circulation Desk. The item will be held for 7 days from the date found.

 

  • If the item is not located in two weeks, the item status will change to “Missing”. The requestor will be notified via email that the item cannot be located and they may opt to request it through InterLibrary Loan services.
