Atkins Library Instructional Services program supports the missions of Atkins Library and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, its primary objective being to provide educational support in information services and resources to the campus community, using the Association of College and Research Libraries' (ACRL) "Information Literacy Standards for Higher Education."  The Library Instruction Program also adheres to the ACRL "Guidelines for Instruction Programs in Academic Libraries" and ACRL "Characteristics of Programs of Information Literacy that Illustrate Best Practice:  A Guideline."
