The Local Documents Collection is located on the 3rd floor of Atkins Library.
- Atkins Library has been a depository for Charlotte City and Mecklenburg County documents since 1984. Includes some items from counties surrounding Mecklenburg.

The Serial Set is a compilation of House and Senate reports and documents. Older volumes contain annual reports from government agencies. The First Serial Set Volume was published in 1817. Atkins has an incomplete set of older Serial Set volumes.
