Subscription e-books (for UNC Charlotte affiliated users)

NetLibrary LIVE-SM.GIF (297 bytes) <www.netlibrary.com> is a collection of over 30,000 e-books. Includes academic and scholarly as well as popular titles. Also Cliff Notes. All of these books are listed in our catalog. Books can be "checked out" for a limited time period. Only one person per institution may check out a given title at any one time. Requires NinerNet login for remote access.
Books 24/7 - Skillport - computer and business manuals - many current titles including some currently used as textbooks at UNC Charlotte - requires NinerNet login.

Public domain e-books - Large collections

New & Useful: Google Book Search - looks for keywords inside the text - includes full-text pdf for many public domain books. Also links to library catalogs - look for "Find it in a library" on the right side of the screen.

Books-On-Line (50,826 mostly FREE)
Net Library: The Public Collection (available for anyone to use) includes 4000+ classic works of fiction, speeches, government reports, and other electronic texts - mostly books in the public domain - search by author.
National Academy Press - this publisher has over 3,700 books online for review - scholarly and popular scientific titles. The How to Search for books gives helpful tips on how to find information in the various titles.
On-line Books Page - over 30,000 titles, 25,000 songs, books in languages other than English, women authors, banned books, links.
Project Bartleby Archive - Excellent!
Project Gutenberg - 25,000 digitized books, more planned.
Links to more than 100,000 books.
