Elijah Patton Chambers & Margaret Chambers sold a a slave girl named Siller (about ten years old) to Joseph Brown for $185.

Letter, written by William L. Dowd, to his aunt. 1861 January 18

Scope and Contents note

Dowd's letter, concerning military activities during the Civil War, suggest that it was written latter than than the date of January 1861. Dowd also wrote about the working and living condiitons of slaves on the coast of Florida, and family matters.
