Want to make a difference on behalf of the UNC Charlotte student community?  Want to serve as an official "voice" of your peers, providing input on library programs and services?  The Atkins Library Student Advisory Board is being formed now and launches this semester. 

Atkins Library is expanding its Document Delivery Service to now include Masters Degree students.  To get a copy of a journal article owned by Atkins Library, just send the request to Interlibrary Loan. Other details are:

Atkins Library hosted librarians from around the region today for a workshop on NCKnows, North Carolina’s collaborative virtual reference service.  The training focused on Libraryh3lp, an Instant Messaging System used by libraries to provide reference and research services.  As the use of online communication becomes increasingly common, libraries are responding by opening new channels for their patrons to use to connect with them. 

In 2008 Cambridge University Press, Oxford University Press, and Sage Publications sued four named individuals at Georgia State University (GSU) (the President, the Provost, the Dean of the Libraries and the Associate Provost for Information Technology) alleging massive copyright infringement occurring in the university’s electronic reserves and within the online course management system. Cambridge University Press, et. al v. Patton,
