UNC Charlotte students, faculty and staff can now use the new search infrastructure to locate and obtain items within the Atkins collections and other libraries.
The new system, developed by OCLC’s Worldshare Management System (WMS) —a nonprofit organization that provides services to thousands of libraries worldwide—also enables local library users to locate resources within the collections of thousands of libraries around the world.
The UNCC WorldCat Local My Library Account
is accessed using your NinerNet login credentials (My Library Account sign in in upper right corner):
When a library user conducts a search using the new “Everything” search box (left), results will include holdings from libraries worldwide. Items that are available locally—collections in Atkins library—are shown at the top of the search results:
The service also displays information about libraries outside Atkins to help users find resources in other WorldCat libraries that can often be requested through the library’s interlibrary loan service.
