Distance Education Delivery

Book and Article Delivery for Distance Learners  If you need access to a book or a journal article that is not full-text online, we will get it for you.  Simply request your book and article via our Inter-Library Loan Service.  We will scan and post articles online and mail books to your home via UPS with a pre-paid return label. Remember to plan ahead, and start your research early to allow for processing and delivery time.

If you need a book mailed to you from the Atkins Library collection, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the catalog: http://uncc.worldcat.org/

  2. Search the catalog, and Click the Request Through ILL button towards the bottom of the screen when you find an item you want.

  3. After clicking the Request Through ILL button, you will login to your library account

  4. After logging in, select the item you want to request, and click on the Request Through ILL button

  5. The book will be mailed to your home via UPS and a pre-paid return label will be enclosed for return delivery.

Some guidelines for the book retrieval service are:

    • If an item is Available or Checked Out, we will either pull the book from the shelves or recall it from another user.
    • Only registered distance learners are eligible for this service.
    • Requests submitted on Friday, Saturday or Sunday will be processed the following Monday morning.
