Images / Video | About Searching | More Engines

Search Engines have come a very long way since we started maintaining a listing for them.
For general searching, we recommend Google. Using the sub-searches, Google: Scholar (find articles), Google Print, etc. will save time and allow you to find a wealth of reseach material.

We have also added specialized engines for other types of searches.

Find Articles
Google: Scholar - articles and documents from scholarly publications and academic institutions - many full-text sources, links to UNC subscriptions. log-in required for full-text.
Scirus - finds scientic articles, documents, web-pages.

Remember - the library also has hundreds of subscription databases for article searching.

Find Books (look inside the book)
Google: Print - looks inside the book, some public domain books are now available full-text.
Amazon - finds pages inside of currently available (in-print) books in agreement with certain publishers.

To see if the library has a book, use the catalog.
