The UNC Charlotte Undergraduate Research Conference will be held tomorrow, Friday, April 19th, on the 1st floor of Atkins Library. The event is a university-wide showcase of research projects completed by undergraduate students of all levels from all colleges and departments in the university. The conference will begin at 8:30 A.M. with a keynote address by Malin Pereira, Executive Director of UNC Charlotte's Honors College.

April 14-20, 2013 is National Library Week. 

Atkins Library is proud to host the first annual UNC Charlotte Undergraduate Research Awards Conference, a research project competition and showcase, open to ALL undergraduate students. In addition, students can compete for the Atkins Library Undergraduate Research Awards: three awards of $1000 each in the categories of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Physical Sciences. One of UNC Charlotte’s most prolific and celebrated poets will take listeners on a compelling journey on Tuesday, March 26 at UNC Charlotte’s J. Murrey Atkins Library.  

If you’ve visited the Atkins Library recently you may have walked past the display cases in the atrium without realizing their contents. Inside are letters, books, photos and other items which illustrate the progress of African Americans since the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863.
