BBC Shakespeare Plays Now Available in Streaming Video

Atkins Library continues to build its vast digital collections, adding to its catalog 37 Shakespeare streaming videos produced by the BBCbetween 1978 and 1985.

The first of streaming videos purchased by the Library, titles include All’s Well That Ends Well, Love’s Labour’s Lost, Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet. Casts include notable actors such as John Gielgud, Patrick Stewart, Anthony Hopkins and Jane Lapotaire.

Supporting faculty pedagogy, “the individual acts of the plays can be embedded as clips in Moodle and other course support pages like LibGuides, for easy access,” says Chuck Hamaker, assistant university librarian for Atkins Library.

More streaming videos are on the horizon, offering the benefits of multi-user access (on or off campus), no missing DVDs and one less item that needs returning.

To access, users may search Atkins Library’s catalog or use the following link. Videos are
displayed through Adobe Flash Player. For questions, please contact one of Atkins Library’s librarians.
