Alumni Services at Atkins

Alumni (graduates of UNC Charlotte) are automatically given access to the library through our Friends of Atkins Library card

Benefits include:

  • Borrow up to 6 books for 21 days with 2 renewals
  • Invitations to all library events and selected campus events
  • Library Newsletters and Annual Reports

For more information about using your card in the library, call the J. Murrey Atkins Library Circulation Desk at 704.687.0491 or email circdesk@uncc.edu. You will be asked to present a valid state driver's license, identification card, or voter registration card.

Alumni can request a research consultation with the Social Sciences and Business Librarian. Email Angel Truesdale angel.truesdale@uncc.edu for more information.

Endnote is a software tool that helps manage citations, bibliographies, and references for research, essays, and other scholarly communication. If you downloaded Endnote to your desktop as a UNC Charlotte student, the software will remain even after you graduate. For more information, see Alumni Access to Endnote.

Some of the databases you have come to rely on are accessible online in limited format or through the public library. The J. Murrey Atkins Library offers access to research databases available on guest computers in the library. Access to these databases is only available on campus.

Alumni do not have access to the Interlibrary Loan service offered through the library; however, the Interlibrary Loan service is available through the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library.

The following are free databases that you can access from your personal or home computer:

The Charlotte Mecklenburg Library offers access to a list of resources. Please contact a  Charlotte area library branch for more information about accessing these resource or the Alumni Services Librarian, Angel Truesdale angel.truesdale@uncc.edu.

NC LIVE offers free access to many eBooks, audiobooks, videos, and other resources for North Carolina residents. Contact your local public library for more information about NC Live.
