Atkins Library provides many ways to obtain items.
You can request items from the library catalog to be held for pickup. A staff member will pull your requested items and have them ready for you to pick-up from the Circulation Desk, located on the first floor. Items can be requested online through our library catalog and at the Circulation Desk.
Cancelling an Item Request
To cancel an item you have requested, log into your library account using your NinerNet credentials. On the overview tab, any items you have requested will appear and you will see the option to click Cancel on the right hand side of the item. Once you click cancel, you will see an option to confirm the cancellation request. Click on Cancel It and then you should receive an email notification confirming the cancellation.
Atkins Library provides item delivery for UNC Charlotte faculty, staff, and distance education students.
If the Library doesn’t have something you’re looking for, Interlibrary Loan (ILL) can try to get it for you. Students, faculty, and staff of UNC Charlotte can use ILL to borrow almost anything from other libraries for free.
The ILLiad system (including pages for users and the staff client) will be unavailable for a system upgrade on January 7, beginning at 10 am. Users will not be able to make interlibrary loan requests or access their previous interlibrary loan requests during the upgrade. The upgrade should be finished before the end of the day.
Following the upgrade we will begin editing and testing new web pages with more intuitive functionality. The upgraded system will include new tools to help ILL staff automate certain tasks.
We welcome requests for new materials to add to our collection. As much as we would like to fulfill every request, our budget is limited.
